@whitequark my personal terrible solution to this issue is btrfs snapshots being sent to a big local server with a btrfs volume holding snapshots. The terrible part is its on top of a zfs zvol  
But my big spinning rust server was already there and i got tired of all the “keep local record of all files to maybe occasionally backup” solutions…

@whitequark i still remember the cursed day when they called themselves Hermes. Reputation got so bad they rebranded to evri. Kept the
service the same though.
