Human Web Collective now on PieFed 1.3

All right folks, the Human Web Collective is now running PieFed v1.3 and it is GLORIOUS! 🎉

  • With Lemmy API compatibility, you can now use @[email protected] to log in and use the site. For those who don’t know, this is an Apollo-for-Reddit inspired client which absolutely rocks!
  • If you’re still just using the site itself, it has a much better design for mobile with the bottom navbar.
  • The federation of Link posts is much improved, looks great in Mastodon for example.
  • Everything feels very zippy, even running on my modest VM.

I continue to be blown away by how good PieFed is for such a young project. I truly believe it’s ready for Prime Time. Watch out corporate content silos! We’re here and we’re ready to kick your ass!🤘😎

PieFed reaches 1.0 status, and two Lemmy apps announce experimental support for PieFed - @voyagerapp and @interstellar

I’ve tried Interstellar and it works! Voyager app I couldn’t login - yet.

#Voyager for #Lemmy is wildly great.

It’s actually better than #Reddit.

One of the best #Fediverse apps today—perhaps the best. Its UI/UX is top tier.

Introducing vger.social: A lemmy instance for Voyager supporters 💙 - vger.social

Hey there! Voyager for Lemmy [https://getvoyager.app] dev here. As I’ve been adding more mod and admin feature to Voyager, I’ve realized that self-hosting my own Lemmy instance may help me improve Lemmy moderation and administration in Voyager. But I had another thought: Why not open up registration to Voyager supporters? It’s a win-win: I get more real-world experience administrating a Lemmy instance, and Voyager supporters get a fun additional benefit! Introducing https://vger.social [https://vger.social] :) ## Q&A - Q: Who can sign up? A: Those who donate any amount on a monthly basis, or those who have contributed a few PRs to Voyager - Q: How do you track donations? A: It’s the honor system. - Q: Will Voyager keep support for other Lemmy instances? A: Of course! Nothing is changing there, vger.social is just another Lemmy instance. - Q: Will vger.social work with other Lemmy apps? A: Absolutely! It’s just a vanilla Lemmy instance. ## Why use vger.social - Guaranteed compatibility with Voyager - Low user count = snag a better username - It’s well-federated, including https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/piracy [https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/piracy] - General purpose instance hosted on US East Coast (potentially a pro or con for you, but faster response times for users in USA than lemmy.world) - Rules against bigotry, hate and harassment (see sidebar) - Hopefully better stability against any future influx of Lemmy users, compared to larger Lemmy instances - Star Trek fans welcome I guess lol ## Quick disclaimer While I hope this instance is around for the long run, it is new, and therefore still experimental. If vger.social does shut down, I will give everyone at least 60 days notice.
