sort-of songwriter but I mostly just watch films and chase cats.

Cat portrait no. 2. This is my cat, Rafa, inside the battered little house from a mostly destroyed cat-tree that he still uses too much for me to get rid of it, even though they have a much nicer one now.

Haven't managed to watch much noir yet this #noirvember but I checked out Pushover from 1954 tonight.

Classic "cop gets turned to the dark side after he falls for the wrong woman" plot but delivered with a ton of style, plus Kim Novak's first starring role as the femme fatale!

Definitely not top-tier noir but a lot of fun. The subplot about Fred MacMurray's partner falling for Novak's neighbour was pretty cute, too!

Bought some new watercolour supplies on Monday in an attempt to keep my post-#botober creativity going. This is my first full-size thing - a portrait of a friend's cat. Still loads of practice required but I think it turned out pretty well!

Wonderful gig by Mayshe-Mayshe tonight at Dubrek Studios. First person I've ever seen play a hairdryer live! And it made perfect sonic sense with their clever loop-pedal pop. Really inspiring!

Really enjoyed seeing The Bug Club in Sheffield last night. But now extremely tired, still in bed and need to start work in 20 minutes 😴
These lyrics, man.

also, since I seem to be having another go at using this thing:

hello, I'm Tom. I'm 40 and I live in Derbyshire with two cats. I make music (Vom Vorton and Vowl Sounds, on Bandcamp and streaming), I watch a lot of movies and write about them, mostly on Letterboxd. I recently took part in the botober drawing challenge using prompts from @janellecshane - here are some rainbow coloured cats.

I'd like to follow more DIY musicians and people who like weird / old / cult movies? Also cats?

went to look at some tapestries yesterday and of course my broken modern brain interpreted them all as 16th-century memes. I mean, look at this guy

Pleased in a supremely nerdy sort of way to have designed my new album cover using Commodore 64 BASIC. I wrote a program that does this instead of, you know, finishing the lyrics.
