I don’t know when we decided that ✨ sparkles ✨ were the UI convention to indicate AI but I’m all for more sparkly products ✨
Happy Goose-moji day! 🪿 (cc @cabel)
I'm not worried about the AI apocalypse. I'm worried about the "VCs subsidize AI tech and sell it at a loss just long enough to make everyone rely on them (aka 'disrupting the knowledge worker industry') before bumping the price up and quality down just like Uber and Amazon and the rest" apocalypse. #ai #vc

I’m excited by AI tools that…
- reduce mundane tasks
- help spark creativity
- assist decision making
- solve complex problems

I’m extremely grossed out by AI tools that…
- present unverified information as truthful
- attempt to replace or replicate human creativity
- use ethically questionable training datasets for profit
- are intentionally deceptive (deepfakes)

The techno-libertarians want on-demand government with just-in-time regulation.

Product management is the art of figuring out what’s important then doing more of that and less of everything else.

The hard part is that most teams never take the time to figure out what’s important and so confuse activity with progress.

It would be hugely transformative for Apple to have ML models like GPT-3 or Stable Diffusion, even Whisper, baked into its platforms. That's what 'Siri Intelligence' should be — something all apps have access to to empower natural language parsing and text/image generation. Models that can be used offline, accelerated for the Neural Engine. Why put so much effort into AI/ML in Apple Silicon if all you can do is watch the OpenAI boat sail off into the sunset

@thatvirtualboy discovered this through @stroughtonsmith’s showcase, and am v much enjoying it so far - first use case was to capture an archive of all the cards our daughter received on her 1st birthday for all of us to look through in years to come!

Honestly, this is great! The students learn to check sources, discover that ChatGPT is unreliable, *and* can't use it to generate essay question answers for them, all at the same time!

My friend is in university and taking a history class. The professor is using ChatGPT to write essays on the history topics and the students need to mark up its essays and point out where ChatGPT is wrong and correct it.
