I think one of the most difficult reckonings of this election is that the incentives we thought inspired voting choices -- a better life for your family and future for your community -- may not be as decisive as the desire to dominate and inflict cruelty on outgroups. Explanations that don't grapple with this point generally read to me like liberal wishcasting.

Just walked out of a church service because the pastor decided to celebrate Trump’s win by starting a statement about the “woke agenda.” When someone uses that term, they have absolutely nothing worthwhile to say, and they certainly aren’t preaching the words of Christ.

@feditips I upgraded my iPhone from iPhone 8 to iPhone 11 and now I can’t login to mstdn.social on the browser (Chrome). I use 2-factor authentication on the browser and Google authenticator doesn’t work. And my recovery codes don’t work. (They didn’t work before the upgrade.) And I can’t delete 2-factor authentication without logging in using 2-factor authentication. (Yeah, catch-22.) Can you help?

Fascists are a minority but they're extremely aggressive, unified, and have unlimited money.

Liberals are complacent, deferential, and hidebound to an ossified leadership and antiquated political ideas.

Leftists are fractured over what they think matters most and lack effective large scale organization.

In between, there's a bunch of easily swayed idiot mush heads who don't care unless it affects them immediately.

Therein lies a lot of the problem.
