Stuff I'm into: hiking, writing, gardening, crafts, art. I'm a cranky devops weirdo (or whatever we are now). Will I post about any of that? Who knows.
Nice day for a walk on the Yarra. I always love the undersides of bridges.
Magpies in Yarra Bend Park. They were right on the edge of the path and completely ignored the numerous passers by.
The ironbarks are flowering, and they're so very beautiful. One of my favourite trees.
RIP the pretty daffodils planted in the garden bed opposite our driveway by my partner - they were all picked by some arsehole who lives around here. This garden bed is driving me nuts tbh - I want it to be nice but it was a huge battle just to get people to stop using it as a dog toilet (the solution was filling it with plants and trellises etc - still some dog crap but it's reduced). Then just when we get some happy flowers they get nicked by some selfish idiot. :-(
Like take that first ad. That 80s infomercial product is definitely photoshopped onto that guy. From what I know about how this works they probably stole that pic from some dude's Instagram and he knows nothing about it. He probably just shared pics of looking maximally swole while in bodybuilding competition form and some trashy company has just stolen his gym pic and used it to advertise their garbage.
I'm starting to really notice that as a society we've decided it's totally OK for scams, grifts and tabloids to advertise on reputable news sites. I just saw this under an Ars Technica article, and I'm completely used to this garbage, but also why is it OK? Some of those are actual scams right? Maybe or maybe not genuinely illegal but certainly even if you're sent a product and don't have your credit card info stollen it absolutely won't be a good product. See exhibit A:

Mmm smells like sheep. Gonna knit a jumper, get hype. Although right now I'm on a yak shave making a calico lining for my knitting basket, which involves adjusting the overlocker tension  ...

Anyway, the last time I knitted a whole jumper it was the 80s, so we'll see how this goes. I've already made a practice scarf out of some random crappy wool I had lying around, so I can indeed still knit! I spent about 3 days on the scarf and missed it when it was done. I hope I finish this!

Well the sun is doing this today.
My newest xmas tree ornament. It's just a Woolies cheapie, but it is very shiny and looks way better on the tree than on the shelf. ✨🐦✨

These balcony loquats have somehow made it past the birds. I don't think they realise the tree is here yet. Anyway, I will absolutely eat all of these in one sitting.

Anyway, this tree grew from a seed over a decade ago and has only been giving me fruit the last few years. It was worth the wait!
