Education researcher and statistician. I'm a proud dad and enjoy both remote and trailer camping, cycling, building/fixing interesting things, and radio. I still suck at CW but it's my favourite mode. IC-7300, Youkits HB1B, and FT3DR are the objects of personal photon warbling.

TV yagi made with 100% scrap materials using k7mem's element calculator and a folded dipole. Steel and wood bound for an attic, so no worries about rust.
A little hammy ASCII art.
Some new rigs in the shack
Happy Thanksgiving to my American Friends. Don't forget to put a little ham in thanksgiving!
15 minutes on wsjtx and yes, this antenna is clearly better than the fan.
Attic 40m horizontal loop done. Definitely an improvement over the 20/40 fan, both on tx and rx, but still an attic antenna. At least I don't have to worry about birds or weather messing anything up.
Trying not to forget which end is which on the 4:1 Guanella balun. Works great with a 200ohm resistor, next is the real world.
Reconfigured attic fan dipole into an attic full wave 40m horizontal loop. It has a bunch of bends to fit, and still needs a 4:1 to transmit efficiently on multiple bands, but wow, I'm impressed so far with the difference in both noise floor and the number of stations hearing me.
How often do you google something and struggle to find a solution, then remember you have a book on the shelf right next to you with a detailed answer?
