Alela Diane's new album, Who's Keeping Time?, was released today. I've loved all of her albums since she sent me a handmade CD of her debut back in my music reviewing days. This one is just as lovely as all her others.

#ScribesAndMakers How do you answer if someone asks you what you do? Is your answer different in person than it is online?

It depends on who's asking & circumstances. Online, it's usually in regards to my writing, so I'll happily say Poet. Offline, I'm more likely to say Accountant, simply because I don't want to have to explain how the poetry publishing industry doesn't pay enough for most of us authors to quit our day jobs.

Yes, I designed both my book covers. One of the best things about my publishers was they both allow their authors creative control over their covers.

#scribesandmakers How often do you have time (or make time) to just sit and think? Not about a project or a problem, but just idle thinking.

Insomnia means every night for most of the night

#scribesandmakers Do you listen to music as an activity in itself, or is it more in the background?

Both. Unless I'm watching TV, I'm almost always playing music. Background for reading, writing & cleaning, but often just as an activity itself.

#scribesandmakers What do you do to discourage or prevent insects and animals from eating your garden?

I don't. Other than my daffodils, my garden is pretty much a salad bar for pollinators & deer.
