Certainly. I wrote a series that actually started from a dream I had. And I often can solve writing ‘road blocks’ in my sleep.

My lab notebooks will have to suffice. Most of my current creative process isn't creating much "side art" or even scrap for junk-journalling.

I was the kind of student that wrote the essay before the outline, if we had to turn in an outline as well as the essay: outlines are analytical, not productive.
And I won''t try to describe how I handled "object-oriented" programming projects. But if certain OO evangelists find themselves stepping barefoot on Lego a lot, they have only themselves to blame, and programmers' curses.
My fractal creative process may be a reaction to OO requirements.

Scrapbooking isn't really a thing I'm into and I don't think it would help me. But I am trying to do better documentation of timelines, character details, and themes in hopes of making revision quicker and easier.

Probably not. 1 I have never done a scrapbook in my life for ANY purpose.
2 With my process, that would just be a waste of time and effort. Honestly, I read people discussing their spreadsheets and serial-killer-walls, and what-not and it sounds to me as if they are turning a large rock into a bucket of marbles and then trying to make a sculpture out of the marbles. My brain just does not work that way.
