#ScribesAndMakers 2026.03.23 —Do you consider yourself a frood who knows where their towel is?

I am Groot. No hitch hiking. It's unsafe.

Honestly, self-confidence comes and goes, so no, and I'm a homebody surrounded by reassuring things. I love to travel, but never alone.

#ScribesAndMakers 2026.03.24 —Do you have a sewing kit in your home?

RS takes a moment to engage the storyteller part of the brain…

One spouse had one from the beginning. A big clear plastic box like a tool kit, shoebox-size, yellowed with age, with an inside caddy. Hidden in the fragrant cedar plank walk-in closet. It makes a distinctive hollow clunk with it hits the shoe rack and a snap when the metal buckle latches, despite the muffling clothing. Plenty of spools of colored thread, from bobbin sizes to big wooden spools. Needles. Lots of needles. Some with golden eyes, plated with real gold. Tiny scissors; they fold.

One of us can mend tiny tears and even do a button. The other draws blood with a swear more often than not.

Do you have a sewing kit in your home?

My kit is from my college years. Mom sent me off with an qll inclusive kit bought from Sam's Club. In that year every 7th Freshman seemed to have been given the same kit. Mine has been essential for emergency button replacement, small tear mending, and the odd novelty patch placement.

Thanks, Mom.

Do you have a sewing kit in your home?

Yes, always had, and I would do a bunch of fixing myself. Also explains why I enjoy cross-stitching so much.

#ScribesAndMakers 24 Do you have a sewing kit in your home?

Yep, left over from when I quilted all the time.

#ScribesAndMakers Mar-24: "Do you have a sewing kit in your home?"

Yes. My childhood family was one of those that kind of kicks the eighteen-year-old out of the house with a few accumulated belongings, a social security number, and new gifts of a checkbook (for money saved up from earlier work), a cookbook, and a sewing kit.

Most of what I left my parents house with, including the sewing box and some of its original supplies, has been hauled around in the double-digits of years.

I rarely sew.

#ScribesAndMakers 24 Do you have a sewing kit in your home?

At least two, not counting the tools, etc. in my embroidery project bags.

#ScribesAndMakers March 23 Do you consider yourself a frood who knows where their towel is?

Oh, I know where my towel is. And don't you forget it.

#ScribesAndMakers 24 Do you have a sewing kit in your home? It will be no surprise to a lot of you that I have several sewing kits. I have one for my embroidery projects at home and a smaller one for when I travel. I also probably have a few of the tiny ones in a box that you get at some hotels.

#ScribesAndMakers March 24: Do you have a sewing kit in your home?

Of course!
