Van Wylen Library serves as the center of intellectual and cultural life at Hope College, a distinguished and distinctive liberal arts, undergraduate college.

The Digital Media Lab is hosting a Research Poster Design session on Sunday, March 2, from 1:00 to 1:30 PM in the library's 2nd-floor Granberg Room. We'll cover essential design tips, share available resources for images, & how to prepare your file for printing.

If you can't make our poster session, you can schedule an appointment to consult with staff: https://hope.edu/dml

This summer, Van Wylen Library had a refresh to the second and third floors, including new paint, carpet and a remodel of the Digital Media Lab (DML). The Sound Room was also upgraded with acoustic sound panels and an audio interface to provide higher quality recordings. The DML is an evolving, tech-forward library space with equipment and services that facilitate digital literacy and cross-disciplinary experimentation.

Give to what you love!

We love our partnerships the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and Multicultural Student Organizations! In collaboration with our User Services Coordinator, MSOs and other student groups are able to create displays showcasing concepts that are important to them that they'd like to share with the entire campus.

Our staff loves to support the @HopeCollege community! Examples include (but certainly not limited to) teaching information literacy in classrooms, research consultations, purchasing & cataloging of print & electronic material, circulating books and many other items, making our spaces as inviting &useable as possible, keeping archival records of the college, & helping with technology! Would you like to help our endeavors?

Grace Mooney, from Lansing, Mich., is inspired by Van Wylen Library’s excellence and commitment to put students first. “There is so much emphasis on student empowerment. Upon entering the library, you see ‘The Library is Yours,’ instilling a sense of ownership in students,” she shared. “I have found that the library’s materials reflect the relevant interests of our students.”
