it does not matter. he became the president with multiple felony convictions and not only did he never see jail time, he didn't even receive a fine.
he is pump and dumping a shitcoin because there is literally nothing anyone will do about it. liberals will handwring and the Department of "Justice" will subpoena but he is untouchable.
the institutions have failed us, the system has decayed, and this is where we are in the world.
you can either accept that or live in handwringing blissful and angry ignorance pretending like this country's institutions have our best interests at heart.
if you accept it, you can become numb and nihilistic, or you can build a better world.
but I'm tired of hearing the same nonsense about "well this time he will go to jail" or "the liberals will keep him from doing the most harm" or "we will just have to win the next election."
it's time you accept that the institutions aren't here for you and that it's time to build.
I posted this just before I found out that the actual elected President of the United States launched a meme coin with a multi-billion dollar market cap.
the history books are at least not going to be boring, if we have any at all.
elon losing the gamer demographic is probably one of the funniest things to happen this year and it's insane that we're only 18 days in
every time I come a cross a small YouTube channel I check the comments section, and I've found something fairly consistent:
- Small channel (< 2000 subscribers) with a video that gets 1,300-1,400 views within 2 days (for reference, that's quite a lot)
- Comment section is full of comments that are very vague and general and, frankly, fairly obviously bots
there must be some new viewbotting marketplace that's popped up, because it's remarkably consistent and common recently
the USG is blocking TikTok because the US is not an actual free market.
wake the hell up and realize that this platform is being disallowed from the United States because they cannot extract profit from TikTok and they cannot control the information ecosystem on TikTok.
this is a soft power fight. it has nothing to do with free speech or national security. it has everything to do with information control and capital extraction.
the united states is not a free market.
so I'm transitioning my short story project into a fantasy/speculative fiction project because I have a really cool lore I want to build around it.
it's still going to be heavily focused on #solarpunk and #anarchist motifs, but it won't be based in the current reality like I'd planned. I got a couple pages in to writing the first short story and just found that super constraining in a negative way.
so I'm building the world of Anarkos from scratch, a post-revolutionary space with chaos and nature magic paired with realistic, near-future weaponry and technology.
thus far I've only built out a bit of the lore, but I've found it extremely fun. i'm trying to incorporate #Warhammer esque grimdark alongside #cyberpunk and solarpunk motifs.
I get why the #worldbuilding space has grown so much. it's a blast.
it is difficult to overstate the extent to which preschools are chemical weapons manufacturing labs.
my kids bring home some of the wildest bugs I've seen at a frequency that is shocking. every kid I see there just has a constant runny nose.
