Attempts at #spindle and spindle whorls in #cernit and #saltDough.

The cernit one survived one hour or so of #spinning (and a few falls), I still don't know if the salt dough ones were a good idea or not.
@bouncinglime most of the time yes, unless I stumble on something especially nice from indie authors.
Two *sober* pen holders for #calligraphy nibs made in #paperMache from a single sheet of paper, two replacement metal things for pen holders, some white glue and metallic blue spray paint.

Total cost, < 0.50 EUR, and a few 15 minutes of entertainment on two days.
TFW you realize all of your black long-sleeved tops are graying and getting small holes… emergency roll of black jersey and trusty old pattern to the rescue! #sewing #what_do_you_mean_you_can_buy_clothing?
I like to add a #sewing allowance that is as wide as my tape measure (i.e. 2 cm): it is a bit on the big side (but that's nice for adjustments), but pretty convenient to do on straight lines and curves that aren't too tight. (also, I don't always use a pencil to mark cutting lines, but when I do it's a plain HB pencil)
I may have heard that a #fabric shop was closing :( and they were selling old stock from the past few decades :)

I restrained myself…
I've glued bits of #reflectiveTape on the #molle clips that I keep on my #backpack so that they are doing something useful even when they aren't keeping anything attached.

Related: TIL that cyanoacrylate glue and reflective tape aren't a good match :D white glue was a much better choice.
standup #detachableCollar and #plastron like panel with #lace borders for my nice flannel #shirtwaist.

Not based on any historical examples, just the general #edwardian / #belleEpoque look.

#InCoWriMo status… I'll be lucky if I manage to send 14 letters by the end of the month, but at least I've tried. #calligraphy (The pens used are a Perry 794 (1.5 mm wide) and a Gilbert & Blanzy-Poure, N° 808, "J" (0.75 mm wide), height is 8 mm and 4 mm respectively.)
The #backpack I use daily. I've finally managed to post detailed instructions on my website https://www.trueelena.org/clothing/projects/componible_backpack.html #sewing #MYOG
