@ronanmcd same experience with android. Living in a flat without garden I tried to figure out if my wife’s phone is spying on us. Talked about getting a lawn mower. Got ads right away. Switched to iPhones

I was today years old!

...when I realized there was a nice list of European alternatives to the Murican services we tend to use everyday without even thinking about it!

(And we REALLY SHOULD think about it!)

I'm missing more Norwegian alternatives though... I mean, nice to see #Whereby, #Vivaldi and #Jotta are mentioned, but still!

@monkeyflower thought similar in the days leading to the election. Moved everything from US services to local providers.
Honestly I’m not sure if I’m panicking or if there is real ground for concern about privacy. I’m not even living in the US

It doesn't matter where you live. The NSA wiretapping scandal showed how extensive surveillance is. All it needs is an adjustment to the algorithm.
