@Vivaldi absolutely right! I discovered that the tech you use, is a choice. Going deeper, I discovered that a solution is independent, open-source software. You guys are sort of independent but is there a reason why Vivaldi isnt open-source?
@dansup If you try to sign in (new account) on the Pixelfed app, I cannot choose another instance than pixelfed.social on iPhone iOS (26.2). Do I need to create an account on the website of the instance or will it be possible to choose an instance in the app?
@disorderlyf #roblox approach looks better to me: roblox is accessible for everyone but if you want to have the functionality to chat with people, you have to verify your age. Currently they do that by making a picture of your face and AI will decide whether you’re old enough or not. The government could make a rule that these pictures are not stored, sold or any of this bad stuff.

@disorderlyf I predict that age verification will go global in some form. How Discord is currently handling age verification, has a upside and a downside. You already mentioned the downsides: #privacy , #freespeech and #databreaches
What I think that is good about Discord’s approach, is that the company handles to keep children safe on their platform. This way we don’t need #chatcontrol by our government. Discord is going too far by setting verification for the full platform though.
@osman I’ve used adguard in the past but which one do you recommend. One thing I don’t like about adguard has is origin in a country that is now in war.

@Tutanota from X to Mastodon was easy but Pixelfed is just not that good at this moment. Especially for mobile: you can't see your saved posts so you have to put it on desktopsite, story making is still in beta and the feed isn't good for now. I totally support the project but it definitely needs major improvements.
