@Unclekage Many years ago I was challenged by a self-proclaimed Devout Christian, who objected to my concern for the poor.

When I quoted the Sermon on the Mount to him, he dismissed it. When I pointed out it was in his Bible, he insisted it wasn't. When I pointed him to Matthew 5-7, he said that he hadn't read the *whole* Bible, just the important parts (which were, apparently, some bits of Genesis, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Revelation and not much else...)

@cargo And even when the show gets creaky, the music's great. :)

@tilton Yeah, we have a fancy single-sign-on system that requires signing on five times when starting for the day, and 1-2 times throughout the day.

Though, thanks to a recent upgrades, it's now only 4 times when starting.

@lewdum That's why I favour it. There's no way to be completely inclusive of the finer and finer distinctions that can be made about sexuality & gender. We end up falling on using a "+" as a crutch. A single word that covers the gamut is far more useful than trying to specify every possible shade up front.
I've long believed that the crucial advantage of the term "queer" over the acronyms is that it acknowledges that diversity is not something you can exhaustively enumerate. we must be always prepared to embrace diversity that we hadn't considered before. this is the most consistent inclusivity

@zorinlynx @tilton We ran about 200 sites each on the Sun boxes running SunOS x86, and 20 sites each on the Sun boxes running Windows.

UUNet US was amazed that we got 20 sites running on the Windows boxes -- they'd never managed more than 5.

@zorinlynx @tilton we had one of these at UUNet Canada when I ran web hosting there. It... wasn't that useful. We ended up hosting everything on PC clones from Sun.
@tilton I know it from the webcomic, from before its creator went on to showrun the She-Ra revival. It's lots of fun, but I think it's been taken offline ever since it was published as a graphic novel.

@cooner Well, yes.

It doesn't have to be *completely* functional. Just able to select between styles of door.
