the absolute best segment in the whole series. It's compelling, it's raw, it has the perfect atmosphere & ambience, you empathize with both characters as presented (no need to know their backstories.)
Could a format where aside from the main storyline (the initial survivors' plight) every episode could have featured only 1 subplot like this one?
So, back to reading some "new" books by a favorite of mine, of all time: Tanith Lee.
By new, I onky mean; "to me," as for some reason, I never got copies for any of the tomes in "The Secret Books of Paradys."
This comes as a much needed "Other Voice, Same Feel" moment in my current writing as I am creating the "unfolding" side of México City and the mythical journeys that brought ancient seekers here to find something "Not Good."
After just a chapter, now I know how I'd like to do and not to do.
What's on my mind right now? Not much, TBH. It's 04:40am & I've been rewatching the last 3 episodes of America Horror Stoty III: Coven, still finding pretty solid even if the ending is less horrific than those in other seasons.
I may try to share some of my impressions and analysis of the motiffs, relationships & archetypes shown there, as well as how they are really pretty straighforward representations of actual women in out current times with their strengths & flaws. Warts & all.
Maybe.
C ya!
