: I'm super excited! I'm happy to announce that I was accepted to North Carolina Education Policy Fellowship. At the start of this year, I wanted to learn more about #educationpolicy and how it relates to #cyber. This fellowship will give me the tools to learn and expand in this area. I can't wait to get started! This is going to be funnnn!
Heading to Denver today for another great meeting of the #ECMCFFellows. Looking forward to meeting new and old friends to talk about the future of CTE research, policy, and practice.

In cases where partnerships are deep move beyond transactional (few do), the street-level actors from industry are committed to positive youth development and broadening postsecondary opportunities. I wrote about one case here: https://www.igi-global.com/chapter/mutually-beneficial-school-industry-partnerships-in-stem-education/329948 and will have a lot more to say soon 4/n
Mutually Beneficial School-Industry Partnerships in STEM Education: An Aspirational Case Study

The case of Mid-America STEM High School showcases a partnership between one high school and a local STEM business. The partnership leverages the assets of both organizations to transform the quality of the high school STEM learning experience. As a result, learners regularly experience authentic le...

I am willing to wade into some messiness to examine the ground truth of school-industry partnerships. There is good evidence to suggest that curricular coherence and small schools in Career Academy models promote a sense of community (internal and external) for students. 3/n
The author's claims are fair: corporate actors is increasingly loud and influential in federal and state policy spaces. That can be problematic. 2/n
