Broke my 2024 no buying boardgames rule thanks to spotting this in the window of harringtons charity shop https://harington.org.uk/ . It's been on my want-to-play list for ages but I've never been able to justify it given how infrequently I get 8 willing friends together these days
Welcome | harington

Published an updated version of my reading website (a complete re-write). Very much a work in progress. The main "improvement" is that I can post notes about things I've read rather than keeping them spread accross a variety of proprietary apps and scraps of paper https://books.toffeemilkshake.co.uk/
Always like it when a book has a precise description of a computer in the same way as you might more commonly see for a car or an outfit or whatever. This from The last samurai by Helen DeWitt
Annoying to have to point out that plenty of people _weren't_ in fact duped by SBF. That many of us have been pretty consistent in calling out crypto bullshit in the face of being told in various ways across various media that we were too stupid/ cynical/ stuck in our ways etc to understand. For years and years.
would really love it if sites (specifically this one) stopped using icon fonts
Traditional start to the holiday. Get the car which we haven’t used for months fixed so we can get on the road 2 hrs late

Before this year the last time I used a Sankey diagram was for the FTs election results page in 2015. This year I made 3 sets. 100s of coffee import export charts, an electricity generation one, and most recently a bunch of carbon offsetting ones. Don;t know whether this is a general trend or just chance

I think it's a known trend that car "faces" have become more aggressive over time but BMW seem to be tipping over from angry into actively evil
These came in the post yesterday. Thanks @sophie !
