https://books.toffeemilkshake.co.uk/book-The-Times-I-knew-I-was-Gay(2020) Is comics a particularly fertile ground for the memoir genre or do I just tend to be drawn to them? IDK but this one is pretty sweet

Finally got round to updating my reading list: Mazes is a thematically vague but mechanically inventive RPG that I'm really looking forward to taking for a spin https://books.toffeemilkshake.co.uk/book-Mazes(2022)

Broke my 2024 no buying boardgames rule thanks to spotting this in the window of harringtons charity shop https://harington.org.uk/ . It's been on my want-to-play list for ages but I've never been able to justify it given how infrequently I get 8 willing friends together these days

This book prompted me to get back in touch with a close friend that I haven't seen for more than a year

Published an updated version of my reading website (a complete re-write). Very much a work in progress. The main "improvement" is that I can post notes about things I've read rather than keeping them spread accross a variety of proprietary apps and scraps of paper https://books.toffeemilkshake.co.uk/
Getting back into wordpress theme stuff after 6 years or so. So er.. can I not just write CSS anymore?
Always like it when a book has a precise description of a computer in the same way as you might more commonly see for a car or an outfit or whatever. This from The last samurai by Helen DeWitt
this year ive read fewer books than any since 2014 (when a member of our immediate family died and we moved house, nothing that bad happened this year but…) i’ve fallen a out of the reading habit (no commute, relapse into hearthstone addiction). part of my new years resolution is about refocusing on the parts of reading thta i find most rewarding and trying to supress my instinct to seek out novelty for its own sake https://www.toffeemilkshake.co.uk/books/

my plan for next year is not to buy any new books (or new boardgames). i have enough and would like to re-read some.
