re. bricked MBP and DFU revive not working: took me ~8 attempts using different apps, cables, macs and OSes (and 10s of GB downloads) until I eventually tried to manually download 26.3 ipsw instead of the 26.4 automatically downloaded by Finder & Configurator that finally fixed the firmware & made my MBP boot again.

3. Most funny bug: the Calendar widget in Smart Stack on watchOS 26.4 keep showing *some* events with wrong start date (usually 12:00 but not always) while it’s correct in complications and inside Calendar app.
I’ve bitten the bullet and finally “upgraded” to OS 26 last week, thought 1/2 year is enough for Apple to make it stable enough (it’s not).
Here’s what I have hit:
1) upgrade from macOS 15 to 26.3 bricked my MBP (firmware failure). DFU revive kept failing.
2. iOS 26 (or watchOS 26) deleted all of my stored passes and loyalty cards in Wallet #dataloss
Years ago I had a dream taking part in WWDC. Initially money was the blocker (as indie dev I had to pay everything out of my pocket, and 7d roundtrip to San Francisko from Latvia is really not cheap). Then it was challange of winning the lottery. But now traveling to US? Even if someone gave me free invitation and paid everything I would still stay home. It's incredible how Republicans fucked up brand of the "Land of the free" in such a short time. Probably for decades.

🗣️ I do enjoy a good rumor, so I'll share this nugget:

I have heard that SwiftUI has been losing political capital, and credibility, internally at Apple because it has repeatedly failed to meet software engineering goals, and needs. It's no longer thought of as clear default choice for new stuff.

That might explain why it was deemphasized at WWDC compared to the past few years.

Comforting that Apple might finally be waking up to the reality of SwiftUI, 6 years in. Glad I waited that one out 😅

Nice, thanks to @jayrhynas I was able to fine a workaround that works even on iOS 26: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/763804?answerId=869283022#869283022

@jayrhynas @stroughtonsmith @teaseaque I found this thread on developer forums with some suggested workarounds ... which don't work anymore on iOS 26 🙈 https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/763804
