If you don’t use your #Netflix account for 10 months, it gets deleted — without any notification, since that info is only mentioned in the unsubscribe email. That’s terrible user experience.

what I learned this morning is that most people are deeply conditioned by fear-based employment endemic in tech

it makes me think we have too few examples of work environments that prioritize deep focus, individual agency, async collaboration, no meetings

the collective acceptance that all work must be inside a panopticon is depressing

@brentsimmons It doesn’t make sense to me—you can’t go against the platform in the long term, and it doesn’t make sense to stay in the past. If Liquid Glass is not suitable for someone, they can leave the platform. It’s like having a switch to turn off Windows Vista and go back to XP. 😅

Escape from Tutorial Hell is now available!

Read all about it and check out a free sample at https://troz.net/post/2025/new-book:-escape-from-tutorial-hell/

Buy it from Gumroad at https://sarahreichelt.gumroad.com/l/iqdry

If you bought the pre-release, you can update now through your Gumroad library. And if you've had time to read any of it, I'd really appreciate a rating or review.

Please boost this post as the book is not in my usual style and will appeal to a broader audience.

Why doesn’t Apple provide the #macOS #Tahoe installer as an official option for download? It’s useful for installing the #beta OS on a different disk or disk partition.

Does anyone even read the Today page in the #AppStore anymore? I feel like it’s been showing the same apps for months — mostly just 💩 mobile games. Is our #craft fading away, or is #Apple only promoting the ones who pay? Honestly, I think it’s both. It’s kind of sad…

Autonomous trains > autonomous cars. Czechia launches the first European autonomous passenger train on a local branchline: https://english.radio.cz/czechia-launches-europes-first-driverless-passenger-train-8847581

For now, there still needs to be a driver on board, but the plan is to eventually make fully autonomous trains. Especially for less-frequented routes (which Czechia has a lot of), it could help with making the frequency better without breaking the bank.
