Excited to make things, but not making as many things as I'd like to. I mostly like writing and coding, but I'm also interested in making visual art as well. Also here for well crafted internet jokes.

I do stuff with learning technology and teaching and learning, but mostly talk about that over at:

I’ve been working on this new zine "How Integers and Floats Work!" with Julia for the last 6 months and we’re DELIGHTED to send it out into the world today

Finally, an explanation of why 0.1 + 0.2 = 0.30000000000000004!!

At every single inflection point in the recent social media wars I have thought "I am so glad I have invested in a blog".
First it was: "Search is bad now, I'll just use Reddit to find answers.". Now Reddit is trying to kill itself while the search engines inject falsehood generators into their pipelines for weird reasons. Finding information is gonna get a lot harder.

Google just emailed me to let me know that "Album Archive" is going away and my data will be deleted in a month.

Album Archive is apparently the dumping ground for images that were in _other_ products Google has already killed, such as Google+ and Hangouts.

They're killing the place where images from killed products went. It's just beyond parody, incredible.

Doing some accessibility reading for my thesis and I tried to search for 'single switch games', for one-button motor accessibility.

Except I missed out the s, so what I typed was 'single witch games'...

Anyway... Witchbrook looks very cool.

Decision from the US Copyright Office: AI-generated text is not copyrightable.

Use an AI to generate your game, your ad, your marketing, your documentation? Anyone can use that text.

Congress can change this, and there's lots of examples of how to register your human-generated text when it's surrounded by other text, but in short: it's not intellectual property.
