@bitprophet it's a FUN substitute, though 😁
@StefanThinks I thought "deathbed" was just a poetic term for "coffin"
@LukeF @kopio Amusingly I read the books about 20 years ago, and was going off that memory while watching the show. After re-reading the first two, I wouldn't call the show a mess; I can generally see the motivation behind even the changes I don't like, and I expect it can do well enough as its own story
@madeofeverything I *dearly* hope we get to spend time with all 3 POVs in Alecto: Gideon, Harrow, Alecto. Miss Gideon so much

@madeofeverything imagine after Harrow the Ninth learning the next & final book would be Alecto the Ninth, for it to later to change to 2 remaining books Nona & Alecto, then reading Nona and *still* taking a long time to figure out who Nona was. I was so oblivious!

Also, favorite line: "To which a voice on the opposite side of the shore was raised, exceeding wroth, and Alecto heard it shout in a very great shout: Get in line, thou big slut."

@LukeF it was an interesting experience for me to watch this season when I had only a vague memory of the books, to then go back to re-read them. Many of the changes made sense to me, others were confusing or dissapointing once I'd had a refresher on the first two books
@hybridhavoc are you planning to move on to the other novels in that universe? I had a backwards introduction to it; read Provenance first, then the Imperial Radch books
Boba recorded a temp of 104 this morning, so we’re at the vet. He has a history of steroid-responsive meningitis arteritis (which causes fevers from the immune system going haywire) and also pneumonia caused by his megaesophagus, so will likely need to deal with one or both of those again.
@Talen_Lee I needed that laugh tonight, thank you
@bitprophet I've loved each book so far, though in Harrow I missed being inside Gideon's head and in Nona I missed Harrow's head. I'm hoping in Alecto we get to spend some time with the perspective of each of the three main PoV characters so far.
