Sitting in the Maldives feeling angst on what lies ahead for the U.S.

I am lucky; served & traveled globally; seen & enjoyed other cultures, religions, & people. Gained appreciation for what we have in the U.S. & what is at stake in our election today.

Rights & freedoms I served for as a young adult/veteran at stake of being stripped/gone; a future taken for granted/gone.

Never in my lifetime had I imagined this degradation of our democracy to be possible.
