@MaggieKS thank you; I am mulling a flamingo too. I have too much stuff in my head and not enough time! Crows are fascinating; I’d love to see what you come up with. There is a lady on TikTok who has a wild crow who visits her. That crow is brilliant. It asks to be brushed and puts shapes into holes that match the shapes with a child’s toy. I wish they could speak in a way we could understand.

@MaggieKS I TOTALLY get that! I just finished a semi-mixed media lion that I thread painted. I made the background by couching yarns and created all of the textiles/fibers for the grasses. Like most people I have other stuff to do besides sew, so he took me almost a month to complete. 16x18 ish.

@MaggieKS I would so love to see some of your work! I love abstract designs and have done a few myself. If I had eight hands and four brains I’d get a lot more of my ideas executed! I have collected 9 machines over the years, most of which specialize in a particular modality. I’m working on some Sashiko stitching right now that I intend to cut up and glue to a wood backing for a mixed media wave I’m planning 🌊 and have not ventured this far out of the box before.

@katekate AWWWW! You are so kind to take her in. She is lucky to have you and that appears to be mutual. Thanks to you the rest of her life will be full of love! We lost our Chloe last November and her older “brother” two years prior. Now I enjoy cats vicariously; I’ve had cats all my life. They are marvelous, majestic creatures! @MaggieKS I think we all start off in our dining rooms. I happen to know that magnificent sewing can and has happened in a small closet, so space is not determinant 😃. Art can happen anywhere there is passion and curiosity. I hope you are enjoying your projects. This mixed media thread painting is my latest work. Most of it was done on a straight stitch machine.
