A tip for young developers .... want people to think you're a genius? Want other developers to talk in hushed tones as you walk past? Want your bosses to be terrified that you might someday leave the organisation?
Easy: Understand x509 certificates and a modicum of the PKI stuff around them.
Figure out how to use the various free tools available to construct a CSR and get it signed. Figure out how to sign one yourself, how to generate your own standalone RSA keys, and know what the different formats are and how to add more than one Subject Alternate Name.
For some reason, these things seem to terrify everybody. Be the one who can sort out the dodgy certs on the developer boxes, who can arrange what's needed to sign those jars and XML messages ... it's like being the developer version of an Army Ranger or something.
Also ... be able to code and stuff. That will probably come in handy.

My name's Zach, I'm one of those new members migrating after deleting all of my meta and twitter accounts. As a way of expressing my frustration over the TikTok ban. To be fair though I've wanted to delete my Facebook for a while now so it didn't need that much of a push.
