There has been a real uptick in dumb, dangerous and incorrect #woodworking content over the last 6 months.
If you point it out, you're derided as either "safety police" (such as people wearing no PPE at all when operating a table saw) or "gate keeper" (such when trying to explain wood movement).

It seems the best way to get traction in the socialmedia/youtube space is to do something "dumb but fun".

It's made worse when big names like Diresta do incredibly dumb and unsafe things like the current "pencil sharpening" trend

Finally done with the pizza pizza peel. Despite having no desire to make a chopping board, a "essentially a chopping board with a handle and taper" was actually a lot of fun.

How To Make A Pizza Pizza Peel - Woodworking Project

Last night we played "Isle of Skye", first the base game, then the Journeyman expansion.

Base is a snappy, fun, light tile laying game. A euro with a little player interaction, but a quick teach and quick game.

With the expansion, it lengthens the game by 2-3x, introduces significant complexity and meant considerably more downtime between turns and less fun.
It felt like playing two unrelated games at the same time. A solid entry to my top 10 weirdest expansions.

We played Oath last night, and it fell pretty flat.
With a max of 8 rounds, 1 turn per round and it ended in 4, and somewhat anticlimactically.

Reviews waxing lyrical about the "emerging storylines" from gameplay amounted to "I punched this person who punched this person and this person snuck a thing and didn't get punched hard enough so they won".

Lots of edge cases caused almost as much rule diving as game play. I'd be keen to give it another shot, but I'm not sure this game held up to the massive hype that surrounded it upon release.
