When we were sure Mom (my mother in law) didn't have much time left I asked her a favor. I asked to record a quick video of some #motherly advice for later when we needed it. I found the video randomly a few days ago, right before mother's day. I have decided it's time to share that video. Go watch it on my YouTube or Instagram. All my social media as @theshadoslair. Hope y'all had a #happymothersday #mothersday #momadvice
I posted updates on the #winterstorm to my Facebook page "The Shade of Writing" and to my YouTube page which has the same name as this account. In meantime Stay Safe. Stay Warm.

How Long Since?

I have not dwelled on you, Oh fallen star, Since you last graced me. No, I had not one concern For you were not mine. Your name I never knew, Might be Anh, It might not, matters not, 'Cause just surviving is hard. Remember you? With what time? So, why today so suddenly? Have you risen, fallstar? Look at me acting concerned, When my own world is falling. I got my own business to mind.

#WomensHistoryMonth fact of the day yesterday I stated that women's History Month originated back in Santa Rosa, California in the 1970's but it goes back even further. March 8th 1857 factory women staged a protest over poor work conditions. The first Women's Day celebration in the United States was set in 1909 and International Women's Day is March 8th.
#WomensHistoryMonth fact of the day Women's History Month started with a celebration in Santa Rosa, California in 1978 as Woman's History Week. By 1980 President Jimmy Carter later declared March 2nd to 8th as National Woman's Week. In 1987 president Regan declared March Woman's National History Month.
#BlackHistoryMonth fact of the day Ann Lowe was the first notable Black dress designer in America. She designed the dress for Jacqueline Bouvier for her wedding to John F. Kennedy.
#BlackHistoryMonth fact of the day Let's talk about Art. Horace Pippin was a black artist whose work depicted an array of different scenes from his life, but his best known works had slavery and racial segregation as their main topics. One of his well known works is "John Brown going to his hanging."
