I've been working on a little project as a personal tool for quick Mac menu bar build access across platforms and projects. I figured I'd share it for others!

BuildBot - Menu Bar Build Companion

A lightweight macOS menu bar app for building and deploying iOS and Android apps with one click.

I may be late to the game and this is obvious in hindsight, but you can't test AlarmKit on a simulator (I assume) because there isn't a Clock app.

Also, has anyone actually managed to try out AlarmKit at all? It doesn't seem like the entitlement for it actually exists yet.

Apple should go full car manufacturer with their lineup. They're already flirting with it, just go all in! iPhone A La Carte. 12 different trim levels with a mashup of features. Give me Pro Motion, LiDar, Always-On Display and keep the fancy pro video features.
I really, really need to know: what are the chances that the Apple Watch Series 10 gets the Ultra watch faces now that the screen is larger? I cannot possibly express how much I hate the watch face situation on these products.
Making sustainable progress is an undervalued skill. You become willing to be unremarkable. You accept that slowing down is sometimes the only way to avoid fizzling out. You learn how hard it is to be patient. You learn that time passes, no matter how you spend it. You get curious about small details to stave off the boredom. You learn to enjoy today and avoid becoming too invested in the future. You realize that finish lines are a luxury that you won’t always receive.

It’s been about 1 year since I quit my job and went full-time with Sofa (lol wut). I’m planning to make a video talking about the good, bad, things I’ve learned, etc.

If you have any questions you’d like to ask, I’d be happy to answer them in the video 👋

It's actually a video. Tracked, triangulated + a ton of shaders.

I’m happy to announce that Sofa is now available on the Mac and Vision Pro!

Up to this point, you've technically be able use Sofa's iPad app on the Mac and Vision Pro, but this new version of Sofa is built specifically for the Mac and Vision Pro. There is still a lot more work to be done for this apps, especially the Mac, but this is a good improvement over the existing iPad versions.

Dear diary,
wtf

Interesting change in guidance for App Intents this year, probably in preparation for upcoming Apple Intelligence features. Direct quote from ‘Design App Intents for system experiences’:

“Previously, app intents were meant to be the most habitual tasks in your app that could be useful outside of your app. This meant an app was expected to only have a few app intents. In iOS 18, we’re changing this guidance to go beyond common functionality. Now, anything your app does should be an app intent.”
