Calling @la_panique! Alert!

Here's the thing: When I read Jen Sookfong Lee's pubbed essay, Gentlemen Of The Shade, in what seems a million years ago but weirdly just 3 or 4, I knew I would read a whole book's worth of that voice and those thoughts. And here it is...blammo! Bing! Pow!
Get it.

Finishing off lunch with berries doused heavily with Grand Marnier is not day-drinking per se. Nor is the moment I drain this bowl like a shot glass.

Yeah, The Menu is a must-see in my book. Equal amounts of hilarity and WTF energy. And Anna Taylor-Joy also kicks ass in this one.

I've had a really good reading year. But I think what I'm re-reading right now will turn your crank: Gold Fame Citrus by Claire Vaye Watkins. It has all that, minus spaceships (but doesn't suffer for lack thereof), and is beautifully written.

So many come to mind. Any particular genre you lean toward, or just looking to explore?

Out of necessity, the coffee I am about to drink would curl the toes of a Turk.
From a purely visual perspective, I loved the masterful animation of Del Toro's #Pinocchio . The character design was gorgeous in particular. Curious about the story choices. I felt it was holding back, uncertain of who it was speaking to.
