Absolutely have to share this stunning photo by @NohaKitsune

@kaybee335 Oh dear lord. Am I going to have to add this to the list of "compatible cameras"? XD

I hope that soon exposure control is a nice-to-have with the new marimapper update coming up.

We shall see!

@kaybee335 gh issue is fab thank you!
@kaybee335 I might add a feature that finds all cameras and gives you a notification if there are multiple to choose from.

@kaybee335 Hi there! Thank you for the feedback! could you paste the formatting error for 3.10 please?

Currently 3.12 onwards will just not work die to the open3d issue.

I'm glad the detection works and thank you for checking the other versions and even the fadecandy backend.

If it's an issue with the string formatting then it should be a relatively straightforward fix.

I'll try and get a patch to you today if I can find the problem

So I've been speeding up Marimapper of late.

Reduced scan time of 400 leds from 3 minutes to 30 seconds

Inspired by @geekmomprojects 's friend's tree, I tried out @themariday 's mapping tool a few days ago.

This is a setup I put together for testing a tool I was working on years ago, and it managed a pretty good map (only ~4 notably misplaced pixels). Maybe I'll try it on the "hard-mode" setup later this week.

(pattern is a simple Pixelblaze script)

I can't answer directly but what I can say is marimapper should work with pretty much any webcam and any position as long as a reasonable amount of LEDs are in view and overlap with the previous view.

The unit tests pass with 9 leds in view with a 50% overlap

@kaybee335 you can use any webcam as long as it supports exposure control.

And even if it doesn't, you can turn out the lights
