Finally got around to Pixel mapping my friend's Pixelblaze-controlled Christmas tree using @themariday 's video pixel mapping tool (https://github.com/TheMariday/marimapper), and it was fantastic! I could never have mapped the 600 LEDs on this tree without it.

@geekmomprojects this is amazing! And many thanks to the link to the mapper by @themariday!

I will be at that stage hopefully later today!

Quick question: can it use the laptop camera rather than an external one like you are using?

The mapper also supports FadeCandy, WLED and FCMega backends, not just the PixelBlaze. That is awesome!
👍👍

I may get some more use out of the old FadeCandy boards I have!

@kaybee335 you can use any webcam as long as it supports exposure control.

And even if it doesn't, you can turn out the lights

@themariday Great! Thank you.

Not sure if my laptop cam does, I flipped the mechanical shutter closed when I got it and I don't think it's been opened since! 😂

I'm not likely to be ready before it's dark already seeing as that's only about 4pm nowadays.

Many thanks again!
