So, I am definitely leaving mastodon.social since we know this instance is talking to Meta. I don't want to be apart of that. Anyone have an recommendations on other tech/linux/cybersec instances?
This over-the-top Arch based, pentesting (kali clone) bspwm running linux distribution looked kind of neat and I wanted to check it out on the channel. Unfortunately, I literally cannot get it downloaded. It seems super sketchy if I'm being honest so I tried installing it in a VM inside of a VM. Anyone want to check it out and see what I'm missing? https://exodia-os.github.io/exodia-website/

I think at this point, there’s very little that we can do about it which is sad.

I've tried a couple other org-mode plugins for Neovim but none have really worked. It does seem that Neovim supports org mode by default though. It's just that the plugins are supposed to enable some more features.
Has anyone ever heard of/used Neorg? It's supposed to be a sort of "org-mode for Neovim" or even an org-mode replacement. I'd love to try it out but can't seem to get it working.
Making a lot of changes to my workflow. Just want to try new things. That means goodbye Alacritty and hello Foot. Who comes up with these names? xD

Regarding the position of scicomm.xyz on #Meta and in the Fediverse, #FediPact etc.

After discussion between myself and the other mods and considering the views expressed by the people on our instance we have decided that pre-emptive blocking of Meta is warranted.

There is more detail on the background and explanation of this decision in a post on our companion site, here:

Thanks to our people for their comments and suggestions to help us reach this decision.
