@siracusa One thing I haven't heard anybody mention before having died in the last few years of macOS is command-period to cancel, abort, etc. Had been ubiquitous before and seems to have died off everywhere. I still try it out of habit and every time I realize I should have known better.
@atpfm @marcoarment 's monologue about the internal narrative of the Mac/computer lovers over the last few years about half way through this episode is one of his best narrations. Pitch perfect articulation of the last era as an Apple power user who loves the Mac.
@dschaub @atpfm No, I didn't assume thats what it meant. It means it'll be focused on performance and stability improvements AND AI stuff. Fine with me.
@siracusa ok we can all keep an eye on it. I will confess that part of me wonders if it’s kind of like the present every kid wants so bad for the holidays and they’re scared to get too excited about it bc they’re worried they’ll be just as disappointed if it doesn’t come true
@atpfm Query… Did you guys deliberately choose not to acknowledge the fact that Gurman said we were getting a Snow Leopard in macOS 27? This seems like a big deal and I was looking forward to hearing your impressions.
@macrumors.com @siracusa my deepest condolences. I hurt a little bit on this one too.
@macrumors @caseyliss best of luck to you pronouncing this on the next episode.
@siracusa I would like to say out loud for the record that you warned us all that it wasn’t ready. I thought John is just having a macOS reviewer get off my lawn moment but no. Should have listened to John. John was right. Installed the 26.1 release candidate last night and we seem to be in much smoother seas, but credit where credit is due.
@myNameIsT @atpfm I’ll be honest. I love the podcast and I think they got this one wrong. I would’ve never bought the MacBook Air when it first came out. But I am walking down the street now in NYC after taking my iPhone Air off the charger at roughly 7 AM and it’s 9:13 now and I just hit 20% battery after using this thing all day long. If you are not using intensive apps like games or video this phone is a beast as a daily driver. In no way do I feel burned by this device.
@siracusa I think you're winning

M1 Mac performance (Tahoe)

Has anyone with M1 machine (MBP/MBA/iMac) updated to Tahoe? My M1 iMac has been updated to Tahoe. I found that the common dialogue (pop-up) box's animation is very jittery (Framerate drops to around 30fps). Quick Preview is stuttering, not smooth at all. Besides, Adobe AI, ID performance are...
