Still can't get over how good McCabe & Mrs Miller is after watching it last night
Basically if you use Twitter to express your opinions anymore than passingly, you agree to be a politician. I have no interest in being a politician. If you are interested in my opinions, great. If you aren't, I don't want you to see them, because you're going to get mad at me and call me a Nazi because I enjoy walking along the harbor promenade of my own port city I live in the middle of and pay taxes to. No thanks, had more than enough of that
I got off Twitter for a reason: it's a toxic platform that drives people to madness. We aren't actually supposed to be able to communicate en masse with people who don't want to hear what we have to say, it only leads to anger on all sides. I just don't want to be involved in Twitter anymore. I don't want the algorithm and I don't want quote tweets. I like knowing that people seeing my stuff in all likelihood affirmatively followed me in order to see it.
Think I might just start unfollowing any Mastodon account that posts Twitter links. Just stay on Twitter if you want to do that 🤷🏻‍♂️
I wish I had come from a family with enough privilege to let me dedicate most of my time to writing poems and songs but also if I had, all of my work would be shitty because rich children are boring

Delta, by Baltimore's daughter Adrienne Rich, 1987

If you have taken this rubble for my past
raking though it for fragments you could sell
know that I long ago moved on
deeper into the heart of the matter

If you think you can grasp me, think again:
my story flows in more than one direction
a delta springing from the riverbed
with its five fingers spread

Talking about the history of the Palo Alto system and the larger system of racial capitalism it was embedded in with @BigMeanInternet and Osita Nwanevu.
The Southern Baptist Convention, perhaps the greatest non-governmental threat to humanity and decency in existence, booted out a West Baltimore church this week because they have a female pastor
In general, sporting events are not really a great thing to tie your city's economy to
Feels mildly embarrassing how much the mayor is hyping a D2 conference basketball tournament as a savior of the city
