Today, we have imposed a €200 million fine on Temu under the Digital Services Act, for failing to identify, analyse, and assess the systemic risks of illegal products being offered on its platform.

The evidence at our disposal indicates that consumers in the EU are very likely to encounter illegal items on Temu.

Thank you for your hard work.

May I point out about companies using "AI customer care" instead of real human beings assistance?
Now there is no way a customer can talk or even receive an email from a human customer care. AI answers are absolutely unuseful and customers get no assistance at all.

It's interesting that while looking specifically for budget-friendly hotels that aren't terrible, I always seem to gravitate towards Route-Inn hotels.

Prime locations, good breakfast, a basic public bath, very decent rooms, often free parking, often below ¥10k pnpp. That's quite compelling, but why is Route-Inn seemingly the only chain to provide this?..

Welp, that's fallen flat.

MSX2+ SCREEN 12 image conversion is hard. But I took yet another stab at it. Here are some previews.

Left a traditional approach. Right my new luminance-aware brute force method. These are the same resolution, and exactly the same number of bytes!

Actually, the tool supports interlace as well, and YAE (SCREEN 10) and RGB (SCREEN 8)!

Soon to be released as open source.

Why the hell is the Fanta on the picture that colour? It says "Orange Fanta", but that's like pomgrenade or grapefruit or something.

Perhaps the editor has never squeezed an orange 🤣

Yes, it's the new year! Here's to a 2026 hoping for peace and sanity! 🙏🏻✨

I'm currently scouting out Tanner (on youtube) for weird and cool places.

Before you continue to YouTube

Next #Japan holiday is fully planned. I'm just still looking for a couple off-beat places to visit in Tokyo area. The kind of places where you'd go "why in god's name would you go there" but are still interesting, cool, funky, or just lovely.

When I hear developers complaining about a colleague who's a "perfectionist" that is "slowing them down", even just a cursory investigation usually reveals that the team has low standards and that the "perfectionist" keeps trying to raise them.

This is normally when things like "pragmatic" and "just get it done" get bandied about to try and make it sound as if the developers who've been checking in untested code are the real professionals in this set-up.
