We've learned that without sanity, there can be no peace.

I saw the Moonwalker poster and game video over at @retropolis
Both this movie and the MSX2+ were released in 1988. This makes for a perfect period-correct demonstration of the #MSX2 and MSX2+ graphical capabilities, while also showing the quality of my new image-to-msx-converter :)

Left MSX2+ SCREEN 12, right MSX2 SCREEN 8. Both interlaced 256x424 pixels.

#msx

image-to-msx-converter v1.0.0 released!

Converts images to MSX2 SCREEN 8 (RGB), and MSX2+ SCREEN 10 (YAE) and SCREEN 12 (YJK).

Never-seen-before superb quality (if I say so myself) thanks to a brute-force approach, and a new luminance-aware conversion technique.

Open Source cross platform: Linux, macOS and Windows.

9'700 vouchers for the new #Jolla Phone have been sold so far - which is amazing! 🫢πŸ₯³ Congrats to Jolla and everyone contributing to the release of this European, #privacy-focused phone with its own independent operating system, #SailfishOS.

❗️A bit more than 6 hours are left to get yours as well.

Jolla recently published news and first photos of functional samples: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/jolla-phone-update-lights-on-technical-bits-and-the-schedule/

MSX2+ SCREEN 12 image conversion is hard. But I took yet another stab at it. Here are some previews.

Left a traditional approach. Right my new luminance-aware brute force method. These are the same resolution, and exactly the same number of bytes!

Actually, the tool supports interlace as well, and YAE (SCREEN 10) and RGB (SCREEN 8)!

Soon to be released as open source.

I finally tried the Bluetooth-in-Android-container shell scripts to allow Android App Support of #Sailfishos to get access to bluetooth. Still a bit rough around the edges: https://codeberg.org/poetaster/SfOS-Bluetooth-in-AAS

But whoa. It just works, even on my old XA2!

Suddenly I can simply use the #meshtastic Android app to connect to my meshtastic radios via bluetooth.

@jolla do we get this (finally) built-in in the upcoming SailfishOS update?

SfOS-Bluetooth-in-AAS

Implementation of a script for SailfishOS to allow user to switch Bluetooth support between SfOS and Android AppSupport

I can't remember when I last released an actual "version 2" of something, but I just did it for my Komplete Konfigure tool!
https://codeberg.org/randysimons/komplete-konfigure

Allows automatic configuration and connecting of the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A-series MIDI controllers on Linux.

Version 2 is a rewrite from Python to #Go. That was a good decision: I have much more fun developing using statically, strong-typed languages like Go over dynamically "yeah whatever"-typed languages like Python.

komplete-konfigure

A tool for configuring Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A-series keyboards with custom knob mappings and pedal settings.

@forgejo I wanted to comment on an issue on a repository on code.forgejo.org. But trying to sign in with my @Codeberg account presented me with this "will be able to access and write to everything" authorization popup. That seems a bit... overly broad?

That is great news! At least *some* part of the Dutch government is looking to wean off Microsoft.
