You're putting words in my mouth. "We're" not saying that, you are.

My point is that a TV is perceived differently by most consumers, who do not categorize it as "the same risk" as other devices. It's a perception problem. That's why IOT is so dangerous: people misunderstand that there are computers in there.

I'm pretty pissed at all the info all those companies collect actually. We should own our own data and we should be allowed to charge THEM for it. Why should they all get the benefit of selling our data and we don't? AND we have to pay for them to do it?

Free speech ain't free.
Speak your mind.
Freely.
Speak it well.
Speak it loudly.
Speak it and own it.
Accept the consequences for doing so.

That's the cost.

Using your face or thumbprint to unlock your phone is convenient, but courts may grant less legal protection to biometrics. EFF’s Andrew Crocker spoke to @Gizmodo about passwords and the Fifth Amendment. https://gizmodo.com/stop-using-your-face-or-thumb-to-unlock-your-phone-1851438205
Stop Using Your Face or Thumb to Unlock Your Phone

The laws surrounding 5th Amendment protections and biometric passwords are still undecided, so just turn it off.

@eff @Gizmodo It is such a pain to go back to PIN-based unlocks-- but as noted, it's the only line of defense right now against surveillance and law enforcement overreach.

It's always a shame when we have to deliberately kneecap ourselves because society won't allow us to have nice things.

Here's hoping that one day, precedent will change on this matter.

Our corrupt Supreme Court is NOT going to rule during the current term that presidents have immunity from prosecution for crimes committed while in office. It will send Trump's case back to the lower court in a way that ensures he isn't prosecuted before the election.

After that, who knows?

Good morning from baby goat land! Still just the 2 babies so far, but 1 mama goat is due today and 1 tomorrow, so there should be more soon!

(I hope they have them earlier rather than later, toward the end of this week I have to spend a bunch of time on campus...)
