@Claire ah - right now I'm getting the error message on gamedev.place as soon as I click the "create an account alias" button - it doesn't get as far as doing anything, as far as I can tell

Taking people's advice and moving my account to a different Mastodon instance (https://mastodon.gamedev.place) - but it looks like the account migration service is not currently working 😅
@Yakkafo that's well intentioned, but mastodon is never gonna take off if the basic vanilla instance doesn't *just work* for most people
yeah I definitely spoke too soon, lol
I really hope mastodon can figure out the server issues before the moment passes...
