@crashdoom @callyral There's a few things going on there.
Kinger's loading into the mainframe kicks off a "Destructive Wackytime" routine in addition to the lockout. There's something else telling Kinger to "DELETE THIS M*******. HAHAhahahaaa" in the terminal output, separate from the system messages, and tries to push Kinger into deleting Caine. Then we have the typo.
Caine was probably doomed from the beginning.
@sloth There are definitely shows that are more realistic. Mr. Robot, for example.
But it's surprisingly close, given the nature of the show. I wasn't expecting anything close to accurate, since it's not themed around hacking/tech.
@fuckfetish The start definitely seemed a bit jarring, since this is the first time we'd seen Caine being overtly cruel.
Before this, everything he accidentally tortured people with was accidental. But this episode, it is much more explicit and upfront.
I wonder if it might have worked better if the start of this episode had been moved to the end of episode 6, or into parts of the last one.
@CarlMuckenhoupt Yeah, it feels like the focal character getting close to that line is just a red herring.
Episode 3 did mention that the worst thing you could do to someone is make them feel Unloved and Unwanted. Caine is seen as neither for the time being by everyone, including himself. He can't make adventures that people like, when that's his only purpose, and everyone either doesn't like him, or actively hates him.
