I’ve just published a new blog post. This will most likely be the last one about AI from me. 😅

https://tattooeddev.github.io/i-m-not-sure-what-to-do-with-ai/

I've started building a widget for our app at work. Glanced at the Apple docs and just started coding. After about two hours most of it was done, no AI was involved and it was the coolest feeling to see it come to life. There's nothing like writing, deleting and moving around code until it's exactly how you like it. No AI agent will ever be able to replace that feeling when you've crafted a piece of software that you're truly proud of.
It should go without saying that this attempt to placate employees is both disingenuous and insulting.
@gameshack_ @stroughtonsmith And how can people review code if they never wrote code?
My Bluesky experiment is over.
This stays home for now.

Man, this one was interesting to watch. As someone who tends to scroll through YouTube a lot without really looking for something specific it actually gave me a lot to think about.

People vibe coding apps who had never written a line of code before are essentially the Threads users of software development: a self-selected group who actively refused ample opportunities to become skilled at something they clearly wanted to do until it was shoehorned into something they already knew how to.
Can we get @MonaApp for Bluesky, please? 😁
New website is up and running. 😁

At the moment I have no idea what to do with it. 😅
