Localization is one of those things you only notice when it's broken.

We've chosen Tolgee for Tabularis' localization: open source, self-hostable, and now backing the project. Context-rich translating instead of blind JSON.

Community translations are on Tolgee's roadmap (https://tolgee.io/roadmap): contribute from the web, get improvements over the air, no app update.

#opensource #i18n

The credits go straight into a better site: faster preview deploys, docs that keep pace with a release every ~2 weeks, and the boring-but-important performance work.

Thank you Vercel OSS team πŸ™

The part we love: the thing being supported is the site itself.

https://tabularis.dev (docs, blog, changelog, plugin pages) is an open-source Next.js app. An open-source database client with an open-source website, backed by the same program.

Fork any of it.

They nailed it: a local-first workspace for devs who jump all day between PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB & SQLite, SQL editor, notebooks, Visual EXPLAIN, SSH + k8s tunneling, MCP-native AI. All offline-first, all open source.

Open-source database client: Tabularis

Tabularis is a local-first, open-source database client for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQLite with notebooks, Visual EXPLAIN, tunneling, and MCP.

Huge thanks to DevGlobe for the full deep-dive on Tabularis πŸŒπŸ™

And honestly: go check out DevGlobe too. Connect your IDE, light up on a live globe, track your coding stats & get noticed. Open source, works with basically every editor. πŸš€

What they wrote πŸ‘‡

Why is this query slow? Stop reading raw EXPLAIN output.

Tabularis turns execution plans into a visual graph β€” node costs, table details, and AI-assisted recommendations to actually fix it.

Query plans you can see. πŸ”

AI in your database client, without losing control.

Tabularis pauses every AI-driven write at an approval gate: review the SQL and a pre-flight EXPLAIN, then approve, edit, or deny.

Autonomy when you want it. Brakes when you need them. πŸ›‘

Write SQL, hit Run, work with your results, no friction.

The Tabularis editor and data grid are built to feel instant: inline editing, filtering, sorting, and a results grid that keeps up with you.

This is your everyday database workflow. ⚑
