The advance reader copies of my forthcoming book have arrived and they are beauties! Thanks to @wwnortonlibrary for supporting this investigation into how we can stop culture wars in the U.S. -- by understanding their history, and recognizing psychological weapons before they harm us and our communities. #StoriesAreWeapons drops in early June but you should pre-order now! Imagine how pleasing it will be to have an antidote to culture war this hot presidential race summer. #bookstodon #books

On this day in 2001 Wikipedia was made! The Internet would be a very different place without this encyclopaedia, and it's free for everyone, forever. What's your favourite article?

Incredibly important work by @ZekuZelalem documenting an atrocity in Ethiopia I'd never heard of through #OSINT, meticulous, detauled and horrifying.

Attached: 2 images THREAD: This is a 2021 satellite image showing part of a typical farming village in a rural part of Ethiopia's Oromia region. A few thousand people lived here, tended to the land and cattle, a simple life. In June 2022, it was the site of a horrifying massacre of 300-400 civilians. Armed militants affiliated with either the Ethiopian state, or the rebel Oromo Liberation Army, targeted the ethnic Amhara minority in the area and didn't spare women, children or the elderly. #OSINT

@SmileyKeith @christianselig Together with your scripting idea that is actually smarter than what I did.
@christianselig unfortunately the only elegant solution is what @SmileyKeith suggested. I’m not aware of any other way apart from altering all occurrences every time you want to update.
@bill0004 it kind of does, but you only get full #exchange functionality with the ‘classic’ interface. Also lots of problems with S/MIME in the ‘new’ interface. #Microsoft ist nothing but a shit show nowadays. I’ld switch to Thunderbird if you got the option.
@tekkie just checked the route, both interesting and very Tour-ish. Be prepared for the winds up there, especially with the uncertain weather right now. Good luck and have fun!
