Android 16 QPR1 and Material 3 Expressive look great but it's full of bugs that just weren't there before. The media controls in the quick settings panel are unusable 😭 this is just one of many bugs I've experienced so far

@atpfm I love my 2020 Chevy Bolt for exactly the reasons y'all described. It's VERY affordable especially when it comes to maintenance, it's small, it's fun to drive (like most EVs are), and it's range is more than enough for the amount of driving I do.

Also, because I'm a masochist, I did a 24 hour drive (with charging) from New Jersey to Florida and back again in my Bolt. Was it a pleasurable experience? No. But long range trips are certainly possible.

@karrbs @superseanut Yep! It uses server-end machine learning. It's not particularly resource intensive. It works well on a raspberry pi if your library is smallish

@karrbs I really appreciate how simple Immich is to setup and maintain compared to something like nextcloud. And if you're only interested in backing up images, Immich is definitely the way to go. The app looks and functions great on both Android & iOS and it has a lot of great features like context search and face grouping.

I tried installing ChromeOS Flex instead of Ubuntu on my aging laptop (Windows 11 can kindly go fuck itself) and I'm so surprised at how great ChromeOS is

There's a whole host of good people out there who - believe it or not! - are still using cold war vocabulary. They have not read the theory and whipping out "capitalism bad" freaks them the fuck out.

They usually want the same thing as you do, but it's your job to help them see it. And it starts with meeting them where they're at. Step 1.
