@andresmh @dan @samanthadalal this is very cool! What're your plans moving forward? Also, you should definitely watch the series about Travis Kalanick/Uber, if you haven't already. It's called "Super Pumped."
Really thoughtful, really provocative. Worth reading in full. Lee Vinsel, "How to Be a Better Reactionary: Time and Knowledge in Technology Regulation"

Work led by Himanshu Zade and Spencer Williams, with support from Theresa Tran, Christina Smith, (me), Gary Hsieh, and Kate Starbird.

I'll be at #CSCW2023 and can't wait to meet old and new friends! Let's talk if you're interested in cross-platform visual misinformation, the (mis)uses of AI-generated imagery, or what faculty life is like at a liberal arts college. Swarthmore CS is also hiring multiple visiting faculty.
@ali well not like they would say the opposite :) and it's at least a bit of side eye for other companies, "Well what are y'all doing?"
@ali at $200/mo I'm sure πŸ™ˆ
@luis_in_brief upper level undergrad course! Adapted from several grad courses in social computing.
First day teaching Social Computing at Swarthmore College! We did a speculative design exercise β€” imagining what social technologies will be like in 10 yrs. Students also grappled w/ how we can better design the systems that we inhabit, why we have a responsibility to do so, & why it's so difficult.
