Hi, my name is Sufian. Software engineer, pianist, tinkerer.

What if I could convince you that taking the same time to explain detailed requirements and carefully validate results with a junior colleague instead of a chatbot would not only give you two people who understood the code instead of zero, but if you do it a few times in a row you eventually get a senior colleague out of the deal for free.
If my business was strong and I had a magic wand that made my team work better and be way more productive, the first thing I’d do would be to… (checks notes) downsize by nearly half
@ksylor ah damn. This industry is so short sighted, smh
Nice, Fela Kuti is finally getting some recognition

Fela Kuti to receive Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award

Almost 30 years after he died, the Nigerian will posthumously receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

@demarko :100: yeah, it really impressed me with the way it was both clearly on a budget, but also intentional about not sacrificing creative vision. Like, it's a fairly typical story about a ragtag group of misfits working together to survive (definitely agree with the odd undertones), but done in a way that's visually striking and surprisingly engaging -- it's all show and no tell
@demarko I was so surprised at how engaging it was to watch after I realized there was zero dialog
This “how to practice” a hard piano passage video is *so well done*: https://youtu.be/MUvPx-ZaYmA

Give it a few minutes, even if you don’t know anything about piano music. It’s such a good strategy for how to get good at anything hard.

Break it down into parts, analyze the parts to find patterns, and use repetition & variations on those patterns to understand and perform them better.
If You're Studying Chopin, TRY THIS.

@demarko oh this’ll be a fun rabbit hole to go down
@demarko awesome, William Onyeabor is a new discovery to me, his stuff is so pure, it’s great! I haven’t heard this, but the first track has got me MOVING, thanks!
@demarko happy birthday! Here’s some Nigerian funk from the 70s I can’t stop listening to: https://youtu.be/27nCc2eiERM
