I don't have answers, I don't even think I have questions any more, I know what it is, I see what it is and I feel hopeless. I can't even accept or succumb because then this system has truly won. Perhaps it already has. 7/
We are waiting for change to start at the top, but it'll never start at the top as, of all of the people in the world, these people have the most to lose. Any effort to make the change lower down the hierarchy simply increases the divide. 6/
It's not that good people don't exist and there aren't people making the effort to change things. However, they are doomed to fight the inertia and status quo of a system that doesn't want to change. We don't want to give up what we have. We want others to give up what they have. 5/
Every day we purchase goods pretending to be ignorant to the exploitation happening in the supply chain. We cling to this delusion of civility. Subconsciously we are just happy to not be the class beneath us whilst pretending we can someday be the class above. 4/
We talk about law and order as if the legal system isn't pay to play and that police forces are immune to politicisation and corruption. Law selectively applies to those without the leverage to protect themselves from it. 3/
Culturally our racism and misogyny spans millennia. The powerful have always exploited the vulnerable. We show up in this facade of civilisation and decency whilst propping up billionaires in their cycles of industrialisation, colonisation, domination and exploitation. 2/
