Cold hands and reading braille do not go together. The best tip I got from an instructor was to wash your hands and warm water before you try reading. Obviously remember to dry the hands first LOL.
It sounds like we live on a really busy road doesn't it? In reality there's no cars outside and the roads are empty. #StormEowyn
Just holding the phone at my window - not even fully open - and this is while it's fairly calm in comparison to when it really whips up. #StormEowyn
#StormEowyn is ramping up now. Stay safe folks. I know it's serious - Uber Eats isn't delivering.
For my fellow Celts keep safe tonight. My tradition of never leaving the house seems to remain a sensible decision. #StormEowyn
Cover less duvets. Who knew??? Amazing. It's the future!
So just got myself a shiny new Audient Evo 16 to see how it works as I've heard it is pretty accessible (on the PC at least). So far managed to get it up and running but has anyone got any tutorials from the blind POV as I'm struggling to understand the layout of the software.
I've tried CoPilot. And I don't hate it. @thurrott will not be impressed.
I love my local taxi company who, after I added notes to the booking saying my wife had a guide dog, updated the notes to remind the drivers it is illegal to refuse a dog unless medically exempt. This is just wonderful and why I always use them.
Going to bed at 9.30 and falling asleep to a Radio 4 documentary was a fabulous end to 2024!

@stevenscott jeesh, it blew the bass away. CLose that window now!
@jakobrosin And honestly, that was it quite calm. It comes in big waves but that low level wind noise is just constant.
@stevenscott Wow! How many miles per hour or kilometers is the wind speed measuring? I hope you stay safe!
@CreativeChris Highest winds recorded in Ireland this morning were 114mph (183km/h) and where I am the wind speed is 80mph (129km/h) and we are fairly well inland. And it’ll remain like that for the next five or six hours.
@stevenscott Wow, that's enough to get a power outage, for sure! I know I would have all the things charged up over here if I was in that situation! Battery packs anyone?
@CreativeChris @stevenscott Me, too! We'll be anxious to hear that y'all are safe.
@laurel @CreativeChris Thanks Laurel and Chris. We are doing fine so far. Some damage to the garden and outside but so far it’s passing by without major incident, at least for me. Today and Monday’s sDouble Tap episode was recorded earlier this week incase you wonder why we don’t mention anything about it!
@stevenscott @CreativeChris Well, in case you need a laugh, and since you have dogs ... When Hurricane Matthew came to the Lowcountry of South Carolina, a bunch of us friends stayed together in my best friend's then spacious home. One of the guys thought it was "cute" to feed the dogs cheese puffs, which resulted in one particularly sensitive pup having an upset stomach. Of course, it was my dog. There were no accidents, but, just as the announcement came that the storm was too violent for emergency vehicles to be dispatched, I was outside, picking up poop in the middle of a hurricane. You just haven't lived until you've done that.
@laurel @CreativeChris That sounds like fun. We do love a challenge!
