Anyone remember the Domino Theory? It was used to get everyone in line behind the Vietnam War. If Vietnam fell to the Reds, all the other South East Asian countries would too, like dominoes. But then the Americans saw they couldn't win the war and fled, leaving their allies with egg all over their faces. Did the dominoes fall? Of course not - the theory was just propaganda.

Well, history repeats except that this time it's European leaders with egg on their faces.
