On this note, I'm on the lookout for a new home for my public-facing account. If you have any suggestions please let me know 😄

I won't be posting much more on this account until I find a new home for it, so in the meantime if you'd like to keep up with my shenanigans you can find me on my more private account: @vesto.

See ya around!

Hi everyone,

Due to the relatively low activity levels on the instance, I've made the sad decision to wind down our instance. You should've received an email from me, but if not: the gist is that I'll plan on keeping the server running until at least August 15th in order to give everyone time to migrate their accounts over to another server.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions/concerns about the wind down.

❤️

ah poop... I forgot to restart sidekiq yesterday when I performed the upgrade so everyone's timeline is like... a day behind.

running it now and it should catch up..... eventually

psa, just updated our mastodon server to v4.1.2. looks like there isn't a ton different, just some security and bugfixes.

really though, I've found fedora + swaywm to be such a pleasant desktop experience so far. the only things I really miss from macos are a good calendar app (a la fantastical or busycal) and email.app.
sometimes I think about being the change I want to see in the world but it'd require learning gtk (or maybe qt). i've found it to be a very easy task to kick off into the future.
i want to live in an alternative universe where there is an ecosystem of indie dev shops like @tapbots building high-polish applications for linux.
@fastmail (y'all are great either way. thanks for making a great/stable email service!)

hey @fastmail feature request for your calendar that would put it on par with some of the best paid desktop cal apps: the ability to create events by writing plain language like:

"birthday party on jan 15 from 3p to 7p"

The embarrassing investor meltdown surrounding Silicon Valley Bank should drive us to consider new models.
